Don't miss this massive boxing event! Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman LIVE on SKY Sports PPV! Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao guns for another win in a major boxing bout as he challenges Keith Thurman for the WBA (Super) Welterweight World Championship this July 21 (Sunday) live via SKY Sports Pay-Per-View.
Pacquiao-Thurman title bout to be aired on SKY Sports PPV
The reigning WBA (regular) Welterweight World Champion faces an opponent ten years his junior after successfully defeating Adrien Broner last January and Lucas Matthysse in the latter part of 2018. Pacquiao currently holds a boxing record of 61-7-2 with 39 wins coming via knockout.
On the other hand, Keith Thurman also known by the moniker, “One Time,” is coming from a majority decision win over Josesito Lopez. He owns an unblemished record of 30-0-0 with 22 wins via knockouts and one No Contest.
Local boxing analyst Ed Tolentino said in an interview by news.abs-cbn.com that the bout between Thurman and Pacquiao will be a good one, stating that Thurman is better than Broner.
One thing he is concerned about Thurman, though, is his health since this fight is only the American fighter’s second after being inactive for almost two years.

WBA Super World Welterweight Champion Keith Thurman will attempt to unify the governing body's 147-pound titles on July 20 when he faces Filipino icon and WBA Regular Champion Manny Pacquiao. Thurman respects everything Pacquiao has accomplished in the sport, but he isn't lacking confidence heading into the biggest fight of his professional career.
With one fight under his belt after a nearly two-year layoff, Thurman seems ready to hit his stride. In a recent interview with The Fight Guys, Thurman says he has wanted to fight Pacquiao for six years, and despite the legend's Hall-of-Fame career, has no question in his mind he'll be victorious.
Take a look at the interview below:

Thurman has always been a thoughtful and elegant pugilist who is eager to show his technical expertise as he breaks down his own fights and other matchups in the sport. Whether you agree or disagree with his assessment of Pacquiao's skills, one thing is for sure, Thurman is giving his honest opinion in the video above.
It's not much of a reach to imply Pacquiao has exhibited faulty defense throughout much of his career. However, Pac-Man has almost always been able to compensate for his lack of size and technical lapses with heart and ferocity. Thurman seems to be aware of Pacquiao's qualities, both tangible and intangible, but there really is no sure measurement of preparedness for an opponent short of facing them in the ring.

It's safe to say Thurman is having a more thorough camp than the one he had ahead of his comeback fight in January against Josesito Lopez. In the interview, Thurman says he trained for the Lopez fight in a local LA Fitness gym. It's hard to fathom a world champion like Thurman preparing for a fight against an opponent of Lopez's caliber in anything less than a dedicated boxing gym, but that's what the 30-year-old Clearwater, Florida native told The Fight Guys.
For the Pacquiao fight, Thurman has enlisted the help of Yo Murphy, a respected strength and conditioning coach who runs ASPI. Murphy also spoke to The Fight Guys about what Thurman is doing to prepare for the championship fight.

While Pacquiao is 40 years old, Thurman knows the pay-per-view clash isn't one he can take lightly. There are a number of high-profile and lucrative matchups waiting for the winner. In fact, a victory for Pacquiao could set him up for a fantastic farewell fight with the winner of the upcoming Errol Spence Jr. and Shawn Porter welterweight unification bout. As tantalizing as that fight could be, Thurman dare not look past Pacquiao.
The Pacquiao-Thurman card is one of the strongest of the year. In addition to the massive main event, here is a look at the other bouts scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas:
  • Efe Ajagba vs. Ali Eren Demirezen - Heavyweight
  • Sergey Lipinets vs. John Molina Jr. - Junior Welterweight
  • Luis Nery vs. Juan Carlos Payano - Bantamweight
  • Yordenis Ugas vs. Omar Figueroa Jr. - Welterweight
  • (c) Caleb Plant vs. Mike Lee - IBF Super Middleweight Championship
